VIRTUA FIGHTER 5 ONLINE XBOX 360 PREVIEW
The Virtua Fighter series has pretty much pioneered the 3D fighting genre back when the original Playstation was king. Now it is being created for the next generation systems, and Virtua Fighter 5 will be the start where the series left off. From what we have seen so far, the game takes advantage of the capabilities of the next generation hardware. The graphics are stunning with highly-detailed 3-D environments that are inspired by locales around the world. The arenas are unique and presented in 720p HD resolution and come with 5.1-channel Dolby Digital surround. The game will introduce two new dynamic characters, El Blaze and Eileen, complete with new fighting techniques and from completely different backgrounds. El Blaze is a Mexican wrestling champion that uses the Lucha Libre fighting style, and Eileen, originally from China, uses a Monkey Kung Fu style which she learned from her grandfather.

The gameplay will be fast-paced and have lots of adrenaline-pumping action as players head into battle, taking on a host of popular characters. You can choose as one of the 17 default characters in the game or customize a character to become the top Virtua Fighter. You will be able to modify your character by selecting from four base costumes and then decorate him by attaching a wide range of unlockable and earnable items. In Virtua Fighter 5, you will compete for prizes and earn credits allowing you to buy upgrades at an in-game shop. Further building upon the depth of the series, the game will feature Offensive Move that lets players easily move around their opponent from the side and back for a more strategic battles. Time will tell if Virtua Fighter 5 has the buff to go against other fighting games like Dead or Alive 4 that are already on Xbox 360. So far, it looks like it is a great fighter in its own right.
