Sega
Superstars Tennis comes to the Xbox 360 with a
collection of familiar Sega characters. This is
almost a reminiscent of Mario Tennis for the old
Nintendo 64 where you have a gameplay that is
accessible to a wide range of audience. You’ll
start with eight characters: Sonic, Nights, AiAi,
Ulala, Beat and Dr. Eggman to name a few. Then
you can unlock another eight characters later on
the game. Each character has different
attributes based on speed, power, spin, and
control. Of course, all character is equipped
with a unique special move. You fill up your
special move meter by successfully completing
volleys against your opponent.
Some of the gameplay options include
single-match and tournament modes. But the most
intriguing option is in the Superstars mode in
which you are given a bunch of missions to
complete such as taking out waves of zombies and
gobbling up spray paint cans tossed in front of
you! As you complete these challenges, you’ll
unlock several hidden items in the game like a
new court and soundtracks for example. The
buttons are relatively easy to figure out. You
have a standard top spin, a slice, and holding
both gives you a smashing shot! So far, the game
has all the attractive features of a Mario
Tennis title. Expect it March 18, 2008. |
