BLITZ: THE LEAGUE II XBOX 360 PREVIEW |
|
| |
Launched in
November 2006, the repack Xbox 360 version of
the first Blitz the League was a respectable
commodity among football arcade titles. It
focused on the physical prowess of the sports,
and the game had some of the most cinematic
on-field injuries seen to date! Midway is now
banking on the sequel, Blitz the League II, to
carry on that tradition. This time Midway is
adding several key features. One of them is the
Precision-Aim Tackle, which lets players exploit
the new targeting system that inflict serious
pain on the explicit areas of your opponent’s
body. The campaign mode will now include a more
gripping storyline, which explores the darker
side of pro sports through an on-and-off the
field drama.
Midway is also bringing back Clash Mode, a much
more enhanced feature, which will give players
those incredible special offensive and defensive
plays. A new button is also in the works for
activating Touchdown Celebrations to give the
crowd something to be excited about. Besides
online capabilities and expanded roster with new
personalities, perhaps the most important
features that a lot of players are looking
forward to are the all-new vicious tackles and
the return of the late hits. What’s more is that
Midway has added another dose of brutality to
the gameplay by stuffing in a new three-man
tackles that pack the power to shatter helmets,
crack bones, tear crucial ligaments, and send
teeth flying! Football legend Laurence Taylor
will grace the cover of this year’s Blitz the
League II. The game ships in October 2008. |
