How does one handle the boiling point of today’s politics, especially when the media is all over the presidential fuzz between Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama? You just find another outlet and let the political upheaval pass. One game that will let you do just that is Gamecock’s upcoming title Hail to the Chimp. The premise of the game revolves around candidates running for the animal kingdom’s first presidential race. And the race for presidency doesn’t mean all is fair in love and war. What lead to these turn of events? Well, after the Lion is deposed as King, the rest of the animals decide it’s time to give democracy a try and hold an election for the next King, giving even the lowliest of animals to vote.
However, the election quickly becomes a chaotic multiplayer free-for-all, with each candidate using a combination of brute force and dirty tricks to turn out the Clam vote. Ten animals compete to become the next King. During the game, all ten candidates will need to form and break alliances with their rivals to gain the upper hand. Multiple game types and hazard-filled arenas keep the action flowing nonstop as the shifting loyalties, truces and vendettas build up to epic proportions. You’ll go through a dozen mini-games that task you with collecting clams, which represent your voters. Depending on the character you choose for your campaign, you’ll go up against a chimp, an octopus, an armadillo, a polar bear, a jelly fish, a hippo, and a platypus to name a few. You can cast your vote when the game ships this summer.
